Stephen Gonsalves is seen here pitching from the stretch and disregarding that grandfather clock windup of his. I’ve said it here and I’ve said it before — if you’re going to take that away from him, that’s a natural thing, you better do it slowly and softly. My opinion is to find a compromise where he can at least keep it out of the windup, and then give him a better slide step.

Big lefty with a good arm and a breaking ball, that’s what my old pal Spider would say, and nothing more needs to be said. This video clip isn’t his best look, mainly because he looks completely out of sync, he’s really leading with his body and dragging his arm, and this is purely a kid throwing for the radar guns right here. Well, that’s what they want to see at Area Codes, but that’s not what’s going to get outs in the real world. I think this guy needs to remember, hey, you are a pitch to contact lefty. All the showcase stuff tends to make some pitchers think they can just chuck and duck. You do that in pro ball, it’s all duck and less chuck. I’m just saying. Evan Skaggs is like that. When Skaggs figures that out, somebody send me an email.
